About Me

My photo
North Somerset, United Kingdom
My parents were worried when I ran around with scissors – now I play with fire and (intentionally) break glass! Based in the beautiful South West of England, close to the sea and often the scene of beautiful sunsets, I am inspired by the countryside around. Working with sea glass collected from remote beaches, soda lime glass from Murano, Italy, Europe, USA and beyond, I create artisan beads, for use in my own jewellery or for you to enjoy in your own creations. But I couldn’t stop there; continuing the theme from round rods to flat sheets, mostly from the USA, I break large sheets of transparent, opaque, multi-coloured and dichroic glass into much smaller pieces to make a kiln-formed range of bright, colourful jewellery and home decoration. Each piece I make is individually designed around the shape, size and beauty of the materials and intended to be unique, wearable, usable and affordable. All my glass work is kiln annealed for strength and durability and designed to give pleasure for years to come.

Your vote counts!

 I need your help, please!

I have a shop on my Facebook business page run by Easy Social Shop.  They are running a competition on Facebook, the prize being a promotional package, so I have entered!  The UK is in it's, what number are we up to now? triple dip recession so every bit of help counts for us small businesses.

What would I like you to do?

Please vote for me!  Either click on the the picture above, the hyperlink on the left or paste the following address into your browser

and click on the vote button that is in the top right hand corner of my picture - same as the one above.
I'm cunningly disguised as me, Sue Harris, rather than Blue Box Studio - Facebook was having a moment of madness
and wouldn't let me enter from my business page.

If you'd like to see more of my work, have a look at my Facebook business page and click on the Facebook shop button - same picture as above.  I also have lots of work in my Etsy and Folksy shops.

The pendant necklace above is available from my Etsy shop.  The glass heart bead is made by me in my North Somerset studio and then I made into a pretty pendant with sterling silver and Swarovski crystals before hanging from a sterling silver chain.  I hope you like it :)
