About Me

My photo
North Somerset, United Kingdom
My parents were worried when I ran around with scissors – now I play with fire and (intentionally) break glass! Based in the beautiful South West of England, close to the sea and often the scene of beautiful sunsets, I am inspired by the countryside around. Working with sea glass collected from remote beaches, soda lime glass from Murano, Italy, Europe, USA and beyond, I create artisan beads, for use in my own jewellery or for you to enjoy in your own creations. But I couldn’t stop there; continuing the theme from round rods to flat sheets, mostly from the USA, I break large sheets of transparent, opaque, multi-coloured and dichroic glass into much smaller pieces to make a kiln-formed range of bright, colourful jewellery and home decoration. Each piece I make is individually designed around the shape, size and beauty of the materials and intended to be unique, wearable, usable and affordable. All my glass work is kiln annealed for strength and durability and designed to give pleasure for years to come.

Fresh baked solos

More pretty beads from the blue kiln at Blue Box Studio - I promise I didn't buy it because of its colour, else I'd have gone for pink for a change!

Click here for more details of each of these sets, some are large, some medium sized, mostly a pretty mix of colours but one set are very much pretty in pink and another beautiful in blue. Perhaps these would make a wonderful necklace or bracelet for a friend or family member who has just had a baby?

I've not listed these as available outside of the UK but am always happy to post worldwide, but overseas buyers must be aware that, especially in the US, customs are taking an age to process and forward parcels so delays of up to 6 weeks can occur (the worst I've heard of so far).

More beadies in a week or two ... but if you are looking for anything in particular let me know as I have a box of solos to sort through, once my fairs start again they'll go quickly and listings for them might become as rare as hen's teeth.

Whatever you are doing, have a wonderful weekend.

Too pretty to not use?

I've been looking through my jewellery box - sounds grand but it's an old cigar box! - and found these pretty brooches which I no longer use. If I were seen out wearing a proper coat and not my cagoule or a fleece the neighbours would faint from surprise these days. So, these are too pretty to not be seen and I have listed on Ebay hoping someone can give them a good home. The top two are probably 1950s, perhaps earlier and the bottom brooch is modern, probably about 10 years old.

I hope someone gives them a new home, seems a shame to just lock them away again in a dark box. Click on the underlined link above to go to the listings.
