About Me

My photo
North Somerset, United Kingdom
My parents were worried when I ran around with scissors – now I play with fire and (intentionally) break glass! Based in the beautiful South West of England, close to the sea and often the scene of beautiful sunsets, I am inspired by the countryside around. Working with sea glass collected from remote beaches, soda lime glass from Murano, Italy, Europe, USA and beyond, I create artisan beads, for use in my own jewellery or for you to enjoy in your own creations. But I couldn’t stop there; continuing the theme from round rods to flat sheets, mostly from the USA, I break large sheets of transparent, opaque, multi-coloured and dichroic glass into much smaller pieces to make a kiln-formed range of bright, colourful jewellery and home decoration. Each piece I make is individually designed around the shape, size and beauty of the materials and intended to be unique, wearable, usable and affordable. All my glass work is kiln annealed for strength and durability and designed to give pleasure for years to come.

2011 craft fair dates now on website

A job that seems to have taken forever to sort this year, but at last I can confirm which craft fairs I'll be attending this year.

A few old favourites have been dropped, by the organiser, not me; but a few new venues have been added ... this year we'll be in Newton Abbot for the first time and returning to Yeovil after a gap of one or two years. We'll only be in Portishead and Ross on Wye once this year, usually there are more fairs there and Hereford has disappeared completely. The renovation of the Guildhall in Salisbury is nearly complete but won't be ready for our usual March fair but we will be there for lots of fairs in the autumn. I am hoping to be at the Create Centre in Bristol this December although this won't be confirmed until at least September and will be dependent on the fees - Bristol City Council were thinking they might increase the fees of this already expensive fair by as much as 25%! If so, I'll be 'somewhere else'.

My website is now updated to show where I'll be and when, with Google map attached. Actually, that took me longer to sort than booking the fairs, it just didn't seem to want to go smoothly today and changes weren't being uploaded to my website. TBH I think it was 'user error' but frustrating none the less.

I hope to see you at one of the fairs I attend, do come and say 'hello'.
