About Me

My photo
North Somerset, United Kingdom
My parents were worried when I ran around with scissors – now I play with fire and (intentionally) break glass! Based in the beautiful South West of England, close to the sea and often the scene of beautiful sunsets, I am inspired by the countryside around. Working with sea glass collected from remote beaches, soda lime glass from Murano, Italy, Europe, USA and beyond, I create artisan beads, for use in my own jewellery or for you to enjoy in your own creations. But I couldn’t stop there; continuing the theme from round rods to flat sheets, mostly from the USA, I break large sheets of transparent, opaque, multi-coloured and dichroic glass into much smaller pieces to make a kiln-formed range of bright, colourful jewellery and home decoration. Each piece I make is individually designed around the shape, size and beauty of the materials and intended to be unique, wearable, usable and affordable. All my glass work is kiln annealed for strength and durability and designed to give pleasure for years to come.

Soggy moggy

I've been outside and had a look,
it's raining cats and dogs!
I'd really rather be out there
catching birds and frogs
but on days like this I can't ignore
the thought inside my head
when it's cold and wet the better bet
is to go back to their bed!

Thank you. Charlie x

Lampwork beads - solos on sale

Ideal for stocking up your bead stash in time for the Christmas Rush [yes, there will be one this year], pretties for bracelets and necklaces.

These are my 'solos', experimental beads, ones left over from sets, a different size to others I made or ones that didn't quite match or come out as I expected. Nothing wrong with them, just different.

On offer there are strings of spots and stripes, others are themed by colour. Click on the pics for more info.

Enjoy.

Craft fair at Grittleton House

This Sunday we are at Grittleton House, a beautiful building and a welcome change from school halls and bland hotels. Do come and see us. The postcode, for those with satnavs without a will of their own is SN14 6AP. Click on the link above to go to the map on my website.

The venue will be signposted. It is situated about 12 minutes from junction 17 of the M4. At junction 17 head north towards Malmesbury and Cirencester, then take the first left, signposted Grittleton and follow that road. It is easy to find, even I managed to find it first time last year, no mean feat!

Sadly the fair in Hereford on 6 November has been cancelled by the organiser. I will be at the Curzon cinema in Clevedon on 27 and 28 November. Both amendments will be added to my website shortly.

More beadies ...

Just listed on Ebay, 2 sets of pretty beads.

The first is turquoise and ivory
and the other set is green and yellow bumpies and dots.

Enjoy.
