About Me

My photo
North Somerset, United Kingdom
My parents were worried when I ran around with scissors – now I play with fire and (intentionally) break glass! Based in the beautiful South West of England, close to the sea and often the scene of beautiful sunsets, I am inspired by the countryside around. Working with sea glass collected from remote beaches, soda lime glass from Murano, Italy, Europe, USA and beyond, I create artisan beads, for use in my own jewellery or for you to enjoy in your own creations. But I couldn’t stop there; continuing the theme from round rods to flat sheets, mostly from the USA, I break large sheets of transparent, opaque, multi-coloured and dichroic glass into much smaller pieces to make a kiln-formed range of bright, colourful jewellery and home decoration. Each piece I make is individually designed around the shape, size and beauty of the materials and intended to be unique, wearable, usable and affordable. All my glass work is kiln annealed for strength and durability and designed to give pleasure for years to come.

Last winner is....

Ben McFuzzylugs. Please can you let me have your address so I can post on your prize from the goody bag.

Because no one else has joined in for a couple of days, I'll make this the last draw. Once the decorating is finished and I am safely back in my 'office' I'll see what else is left in the bag and draw out more names and allocate according to whoever has already commented but not yet had a prize.

Another winner .....!

Tonight's winner is Tracy Smith. Well done Tracy. Let me have your contact details and I'll dip into the bag and send you something.

Just enough in the bag for 2 more draws, hopefully the next one will be tomorrow, same time, same place but is dependent on me being able to get the PC close enough to the phone socket in my office. Yes, we are wireless in this house, but my PC refuses to talk to the very fancy and over-powerful unless it's plugged in. All the other computer work fine, just mine.

Tomorrow painting starts in earnest. it will be Lunar Falls - fate played a hand by not having any Mint Whisper in stock locally. Obviously a more popular colour, but then I wouldn't want to be the same as anyone else.

It's still not to late to enter the give away - if you've not already done so.

Until the next time .....

Tonight's winner is

Moppy! Congratulations. Please let me have your address so I can post your prize to you.

I have now posted prizes off to FairlyGirly, Haptree and Top Floor Treasures and their winning entry removed from the list.

I'll have another draw tomorrow about the same time and another winner will be chosen using the random number chooser.

Meanwhile, the decorating progresses, or will tomorrow when I buy the paint. I'm leaning towards the yellowy paint because it looks brighter in my dark little room, but fate will play a hand and I'll buy whichever I find in my local Focus store. Knowing my luck neither will be on the shelf! Then I'll have to drive to Homebase in the next town, although I may make my fingers do the walking before I get in the car [showing my age, I can remember very old BT ads].

If you've not entered, do, there are still a few more goodies to be had.

Tonight's winner is .....

Number 5.

And number 5 on my list is Top Floor Treasures. Congratulations.

Another draw tomorrow, about the same time.

Tonight's winner is ....... (drum roll)

...... number 10 on my list; and that lucky person is Haptree. Congratulations.

Haptree, can you let me have your address so I can post your prize to you?

Everyone else will remain on the list for the next draw, about the same time tomorrow.

As for the decorating, I'm still packing up the contents of the office and still finding more things to go in the give-away bag. There are plenty more prizes for a few days to come.

As I've said before, you have to be in it to win it so come on and have a go, it's not difficult.

And the first winner is ............

...... FairlyGirly. Congratulations, your prize will be winging its way to you as soon as you let me have your address. You have won some cute little badges by Bubsie.

The other names will remain in the hat so to speak (an excel spreadsheet in reality) and Random.org will pick another winner about the same time tomorrow.

Lots of things to give away....!

Something I have been planning to do for a while is decorate my 'office' (a.k.a. the box room). It's about 6 foot square and has turned into a dumping ground as visitors have come and gone and now 'organised chaos' isn't something I can say about it.

As I have gone round sorting and Freecycling things I have amassed a pile of goodies that I have collected, won, been given, no longer make and more so I thought I would have a massive give-away. Sorry, but because of the costs involved, this one is open to UK residents only.

No promises what you will get, but I have beads, pretty papers, earrings, badges, necklaces, notelets, ribbons, peel-offs and there will no doubt be more as I carry on sorting. It's all a bit of a secret lucky dip .... I can't find the camera to photograph things , it must be at the bottom of a packing box. If you'd like the chance of something for nothing here's what you need to do.

Not a lot!
Leave me a comment about what you like, dislike, think I should make more of in any of my shops: Blueboxstudio on Etsy, Blueboxstudio on Folksy, Blueboxstudio on Big Cartel, Blueboxstudiotoo on Etsy and Blueboxstudiotoo on Folksy. Or just tell me 3 things that have made your day good. You can have an extra chance if you mention my blog give away and something you like in my shops, on your blog, Twitter, Facebook etc (include link) and 5 extra chances if you buy something from me and remind me in the 'message to seller'.

If you fancy anything in particular from the selection above, let me know and if it's still in the bag it'll be yours. Or if there is anything you don't want, e.g. jewellery let me know. You might as well get something you will like and use.

I'll draw one name each evening from the list and post your goodies off to you the next day. This will end when I run out of goodies in my bag - but I'll post on my blog to let you know.

Good luck everyone.

Now I will get ack to the sorting. I managed to get a large piece of brand new but unwanted worktop from Freecycle yesterday which is intended as a big desktop, but first I must decorate. Shall I go for Lunar Falls or Mint Whisper (probably the latter, sounds like a chocolate bar!)?
